This could be a social studies lesson that centers around current events. Students would first be asked to research current news stories either through bringing in newspapers or by internet sites such as MSNBC.com or CNN.com. Then once all the students have gathered enough information they can put it all together to create their own news broadcast. This could be recorded as a radio news broadcast or as a television news broadcast. The teacher could then upload the news show as a podcast that could be shared with other teachers and classrooms.
